About this work
This collection was discovered on the southern Taihang Mountains, atop a sheer cliff at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters. After the tree died naturally, it remained on the cliff for hundreds of years, exposed to wind and sun. Its outer bark has completely weathered into white powder. The heartwood is visible to the naked eye, featuring a reddish, oily and lustrous texture. A cut at the base releases the distinctive mellow fragrance of aged cliff cypress. Its branches spread outward like antlers, while the main trunk exudes a deep, solid presence, creating a frozen sense of dynamism.
Nothing has been carved or added; the surface was only cleaned and sealed.
